Description

M51 taken on Sunday night which was glorious from a clear skies point of view but not so good in terms of world events obv

Just over three hours integration using 60 subs

I stupidly didn't set dither going so first 40 or so subs were without dither

Guiding was good (for me) when I checked but this doesn't seem to have translated into round stars ... dooh

Had left the scope out from the Friday and didn't recheck collimation which perhaps I should have done

Used my 8" Orion astrograph which is 800mm focal length

I really need to get my 8" RC on these targets which has double the focal length but never really

used it successfully ... need to get a better guide scope is my current excuse on this

Anyway this deffo slightly better tan the version I got last year ... you can just see some whispy outer nebulosity if you look closely

Am guessing in need to triple integration time to capture the fainter stuff given my borttle 8 skies

Trip to dark skies site not on in near future given pandemic
